Achievements Since Elected, November 2008

I thought as l am now getting to grips slowly with technology's such as my blog  l should let everyone know my   results so far in response to  residents  approaches and. pleas  for assistance.

(1)  Miller way two issues one being state of trees health which l quickly obtained a check by Teignbridge District Council  to allay fears of nearby residents. Second being disappearance whole scale of trees on motorway embankment which acted as a traffic noise screen it appeared ominous but  questions asked revealed  they had to be felled due to poor root conditions and dangers of falling onto carriageway, however they did  present apologies to residents for lack of communications and noise at night during works.

Berrybrook meadow, after 8 months of liaison got  developer Redrow homes despite legal discussions with Teignbridge District Council over handing over area to agree to a clear up of their side of offending bank, whilst  getting the parish Council who own the other side of the bank to clear that side of overgrown vegetation etc thus reducing flood risk in wet conditions etc, my then prospective MP Mel Stride helped in an initial clear up where we pulled from the bank an old pram for one!

Lately in response to complaints from residents l have  through again protracted negotiations got the Environment agency to get the owner to clear two blockages on their land one under the bridge this should be done soon. The railway station reopening a very popular sensible option in the village  is gaining  pace Devon County Council is to include it in their overall area feasibility study of  viability a definite positive move keep watching.

The Village road safety scheme not all things to everyone and not ideal has resulted in slower traffic movements so my campaigning in this achieved with the PC  a safer village centre more is still to be done addressing the double crossing point for children by Exminster garage but one. The result of a cul-de-sac no through sign upon the Glebelands estate entrance as a result of please from residents was a swift Teignbridge District Council response which l hope helps them.

The complete renovations of all Exminster's Bus stops (vandalised or just worn) l hope with my community fund helping to pay largely for that  l hope makes it a little more pleasant for  waiting passengers a big thank you again to Stagecoach who donated £500 as well.     The campaigning against the Mobile phone mast  near Farm House Rise and  Reddaway Drive resulted in the company listening and agreeing to move it! subsequent  merger put it on hold.

Many planning applications have been presented to me for help from Townsington barns to Yeos Farm Dunchideok   all have successfully been taken against officer regimentation to committee at Teignbridge District Council and won good news for the applicants, on the other side l am  still opposing applications l feel are detrimental at Willhayes, and others.

I have made many donations from my community fund towards:

( 2 ) Exminster Youth Club, Exminster Summerplay scheme, Coffee on the corner,Dunchideok Parish Hall, Shillingford Village Hall, Ide  for dog bin and CCTV in their community shop car park, and many others all helping in a small way for things to happen.

I strongly opposed absorption into Exeters Unitary  designs and fought for Exminster to remain in Teignbridge . Bus stops have been also renovated at Kennford and, drainage brooks cleared of debris, as well as Wheelie bins provided for new residents lam also keeping an eye on the safer provision of a footpath for residents avoiding the dangerous one adjacent to the  A30, this will result from a proposed development in the adjacent farm perhaps in the future at some point if the hard working PC achieve this aim.

I have been active too on many issues  sometimes not always popular with everyone concerned but people know me by now that i act if something is right in principle only.

I will add more info  on a more regular basis  to keep all my ward  informed, thank you.
